Meet The Team
Alastair has worked in education for more than 26 years and has been a head teacher in both Essex and Suffolk schools. He has extensive experience working across the primary and secondary sector and immediately prior to becoming the CEO of OMAT, Alastair was the Consortium Director for Colchester Teacher Training Consortium. This is an outstanding initial teacher training provider working with primary, secondary and specialist schools across North Essex, South Suffolk and Southend, including a training hub at the Halifax Primary School.
Ellena is new to the team, joining in May 2021. Ellena has spent a year in finance and sales after receiving a 1st Class Business Management degree.
Lisa started her career in banking before commencing work in education finance nearly 20 years ago. Before the trust was formed Lisa worked as School Business Manager at Springfield Infant School & Nursery. Lisa joined the Shared Services team in 2018 and now support schools with their financial management.
Yvel joined Orwell Multi Academy Trust in January 2020. Previously Yvel worked for seven years at Gusford Primary School as the Finance Assistant and assisting with the HR. Her career in finance started in 1999 working for Nationwide Building Society. After the birth of her second child, she chose to stay at home and run her own child-minding business for seven years until she decided to return to her roots and what she enjoyed. In her spare time, Yvel helps run a committee group for her daughter’s local ballroom schools, often helping organise social events and local competitions.
