In 1999, we set up an advice centre in London .  We were lucky to have the help of a very generous and dear friend of mine, who came all the way from Brighton to give advice in a friendly and informal setting on a wide range of issues from:

·         Welfare Benefits to Employment Contracts

·         Housing Problems to Tax Returns

When he died in December 2000, it was decided that our best course of action was to find a well established organisation, within easy reach of most people in London , who could also provide a phone help line.  We were introduced to Central London Advice Service(CLAS), who also had two Mauritians on its Management Committee. In 2006, CLAS was taken over by Migrants Resource Centre (MRC) www.migrantsresourcecentre.org.uk.  Advice service is still provided by MRC from CLAS old address Derry House, Penfold Street, London NW8 9EB

The Advice Centre is open most days of the week.  Ring 0845 241 0961 for appointments or call in personally at the centre.
