As mauritians living abroad we forward money and visit our motherland,buy properties and set up businesses which employ local people.The government need to realise that we are citizens of Mauritius despite living abroad and that we have interests in the motherland,therefore we need to have a say in the political arena. It is our civic and human rights to be able to vote in elections in Mauritius.At present Mauritius News is launching a similar campaign to fight for our rights, I believe we amalgamate all the bodies with such an aim and present with a solid front and lobby governtment representatives who visit whichever part of the world where Mauritians live. Lets get together and demand our rights. We cannot be ignored.
